I still do..13 years and counting

From the moment you told me you saw Jesus in me, I knew YOU were my match. That grape jolly rancher started this whole relationship, but when you talked about our Mighty Maker living in me I knew I had found the one my heart desired. Here we are 16 years later (dated for 2, engaged for 1, married for 13) and I could not be more in love with you. 

You believed in me, when I thought I was just like any ordinary girl. You not only told me I was special but you made me feel that way too. Thanks for your love and laughter! I've enjoyed that past 16 years learning about you and building a family with you. I've come up with some of my favorite things about you and I'd like to share...

I'm the penny pincher, deal getter and lover of a good deal, you give and spend as though it isn't ours. Thanks, I need that insight daily. 

You get up before the sun is up, exercise and spend time in prayer/meditation and reading. Although I give you a hard time and often encourage you to skip I admire this so much about you. You take care of your heart and body so you can take care of your family. 

You work hard so I can stay at home with our babies. I tell you me being at home is a luxury for our family and you get it. You NEVER ask me how productive I've been or ask me when supper is ready, you want to know we are all happy and taken care of and past that you have no to do list. Thanks for your contentment. Thanks for being so committed to our family and not worrying about things that don't really matter. 

You love our kids BIG. You enjoy seeing them smile and love making memories with them 

but more than that you teach them so much. You push Davis to grow in ways I never knew imaginable. I don't always agree with how tough you can be on him, it's hard to watch, but in the end he is always better because of it. He is definitely living out the prayer you taught him on how to be a tough man to handle the world, but tender as well.

I love the way you talk to Emerson so she knows she's enough and she is confident to talk to you about anything. She knows she is beautiful, because she is made in God's image and that is because she has a daddy that tells her this daily. She gets so silly with you and true joy shows in both of you, its really beautiful to watch.

I've made so many memories with the kids while being at home, but you have taken full advantage of your drive to school with them. Taking them to school seems so little but you have taught both Davis and Emerson so much on that short little drive. They know specific prayers, the Lord's prayer, the books of the Bible, Psalms 23 and countless songs of God's grace and love from K-love. Your prayers with them on the way to school I'm confident is one the reasons they do so well in school. 

I've given you a hard time about not being handy but you have seriously got so much better as the years have past about you-tubing or learning your way through a project. You may spend your entire day on a 1-2 hour project but you finish it and that is one reason why I love you! 

You enter our door every evening with a kiss for each of us and take time to ask each one of us how are day was and just genuinely spend time making sure we are ok. It's so little but it goes so far. No matter how chaotic it may be when you walk in, you ALWAYS do this and it is very impressive.
