10 years ago you changed my full-time speech-language pathologist status to full-time sahm, 10 years ago you surprised all of us with your size (all 9lbs 14 oz of you), 10 years ago my heart grew, 10 years ago you made me a mom and the happiest girl EVER! Happy decade, happy two whole hands, happiest of birthdays to you my sweet, smart, sports loving, book reading, curious little man! May you change the world because you sure have changed me!
Matthew 3:16 this is my son, my love, in him, I am well pleased.
We headed home from retreat and stopped at Mia's house for your family lunch bash. She had made your favorite, Dorito walking taco. You have never eaten so much! HA! You told me last night before I put you to bed that you actually felt older already!
I see you little man growing up right in front of my eyes. You lead with your quite gentle spirit, you love and teach your sister daily, you read and have an abundance of knowledge that you love sharing with me and anyone who will listen, you love sports, specifically basketball and football but you play all sports, you have a wealth of sport stat knowledge and sometimes when I listen to you speak to your daddy about them I can't believe you know the things you know. You are beginning to like more and more foods and are trying them with less fuss, some days. You are more inquisitive than any person I've ever met, your imagination is still so strong and vivid, you take things apart just to reinvent them. I tease and say you like to hoard but actually it's just your vivid imagination wanting to recreate things. You enjoy a challenge and love to learn. You are so obedient and when others around you are not it disappoints you. You often fuss at me for letting Emerson do things you don't think are safe/right and you keep me on my toes with her/your discipline. You love all things Golden state warrior and Tn and you fight/defend them till the end. You are so much like your daddy in that you observe and watch others and can read them very well. You are quite until someone knows you and then you have a lot to offer the friendship. You love to tell jokes and riddles and you find pleasure in stumping adults with your puzzlers. You are brave and confident and you my sweet ten-year-old make my days so much more fun.
My prayer for you Davis is that you never stop learning and gaining wisdom. I pray you share that wisdom with others and learn from your mistakes. I want you to understand it is ok to mess up, I, your father, and God will ALWAYS love you! My mantra for you: you are my son, my love, in you I am well pleased. I hope you always feel so loved!
Love others with your amazing passion and they will see Jesus in you. Lead others to him by your example. Tell them of the amazing things he has done for you.
Dream BIG my little man! You are a mighty warrior of Christ!
We couldn't get this girl to put down her new book, until I said let's go outside and then...
this happened...Miss G thought she was such a big girl riding in the jeep!
