It's been five years and a couple of trims. Her first trim at age 3 at Disney World. The others were just normal one inch trims to get the dead ends off, today we cut 10!!! We talked at length about those who don't have hair, why and what we could do to help and she was excited to do so. I've never seen a girl more ready to give of herself. She climbed up in the chair while the hairdresser and I were talking and said, " Can we do this? I am so ready!"
Tammy, our friend and hairdresser got the 4 ponytails ready at about 9 inches and began cutting.
Emerson was not nervous at all. I on the other hand felt like vomiting! Walker and I spend countless hours combing, blow drying, and doing her hair and lately the task had begun to get UGLY! She would cry real tears because the tangles had taken over!! We were pretty excited to have less work and stress with her hair so we were both very much on board!
NOTHING made me so happy as this face and her reaction to the cut. She was so excited to see her new do and give her hair to another lady. We prayed for God to bless the lady that receives it and we prayed her illness be healed. We also prayed that she knows God and if she doesn't she will come to know him because of this donation. Seriously one of the most precious times I shared with my baby girl.
We can't wait for Pantene to receive her 4 ponytails of 9 inches and for the sweet lady to get her new hair! Couldn't be more proud of my 5 year old princess! BTW, Emerson almost demanded to come see her daddy as soon as the cut was over. She loves her daddy!
