Haiti 2017

And we are off. Less than 48 hours from getting home from the beach, myself and 5 others headed to Haiti. We had a fun group and I enjoyed learning more about each person that traveled with us. I'm certain some memories I will NEVER forget with this crew..sleeping in the airport, connorisms (such as I can't write in cursive so I just wrote in English, are these for our popcorn on the flight, pointing to the barf bags), Caleb's favorite line to connor, "you can't say that!", and my list goes on and on. By and large I have a big amount in my heart for this group and am so proud to have served along side of them all week. Enjoy our travel shots as we headed to Haiti.

We made it to Miami and set up camp...
Kindall and I got rather silly about the whole thing! Big thanks to Mark for allowing me to use his headphones for white noise!!
We made it! Riding from PAP to Christianville.
This girl..there are no words adequate enough for what I feel for her and our friendship. Her love for Haiti is something fierce and so contagious! So glad I took a leap of faith and said yes to go to Haiti.
Group photos are tough when you speak a different language and have so many children and such different ages, but we managed to pull it off, several times!!

Seriously ya'll I couldn't get enough of my girl. I took her everywhere and took our photos constantly..enjoy, I know I will!

One day we took the kids to the beach and this was our before bus shot, before kids packed us in! I am pretty sure there were 7 of us in my seat! But..they sang and I was humbled to tears!!!
We took quite a few trips to Haiti made, a smoothie store started by Americans by run by Haitians, while we were in Haiti. So glad we got these two to join us. They are quite the pair and I love watching them love on one another and the kids!

These two, my selfie buddies!

I brought some nail polish for the girls and captured this precious moment of Joshua painting Mishou's toes!

Next, I let her paint mine. What a mess, but oh the giggles!

Always a random selfie to crack you up, the crew wishing I knew how to take pictures with the i-pad!

I got to homeschool this sweet little girl, Diana, and we were so proud to be done and have a successful school session! So, we celebrated with some i-pad time!

My girl loves to swing, so we made sure she got a lot of swinging time in!

We were so glad when T-bob, our juniper buddy, gave us a ride to the mountain on his gator. We truly had a mountain top experience. God's beauty is so much more than I could ever grasp or imagine!

Giving the kids their school supplies and backpacks was AMAZING! They are so excited to start the school year with new bags and supplies.

I seriously had her in my arms at ALL times.

See, where's Mishou?
So much so I was squishing our faces together, I could not get enough!!!

That didn't stop me from holding others though! These precious kids, impossible to say no to picking them up!

I wanted more than anything for Mishou to get her picture with my kiddos. That day she was not having it and I only managed to get this one.

After standing on America soil again we headed straight for a salad and some water! HA! Added bonus was a molten cake!
Headed back to Tennessee. Home sweet home.

In no way have I been able to process our trip just yet, but blogging our pictures is helping tremendously. My thoughts thus far...May we never forget the Haitians or those who have nothing. May we always thank God for our blessings and share with others. May we share life with others so we can constantly be humbled and reminded it is not about us. May we never forget to pray for Haiti. May we not get so caught up in stuff. May we not get so caught up in money and riches. May we live our life so that others see HIM! May we be happy, content with what we have, or less. May we look for ways to serve others. May we always remember our purpose! May be have JOY! May we be a people who loves like him. Remind me of these things daily!
