Davis Walker Dow Wellington...8 years old

How do I love you? Let me get lost in the ways!!!
You are my first born, the one who gave me the title mommy, and a little boy with such a sweet spirit. You charm us with your million dollar smile, golden blonde hair and greenish blue eyes.
Davis Walker there is none quite like you.

You are a lover all of sports. You can remember facts, plays, mascots, colors, etc about most sports teams and games. You have a new found love of looking through your dads old cards and putting them in your own collection. You enjoy being outside and will tinker around with sticks, old tools or really anything you can find/get your hands on. When you are not tinkering you are bouncing, throwing, hitting, kicking a ball. You love to play sports and you play with your whole heart. No one questions your zeal of the game, or whether you are in it to win it.

You LOVE to read and on the days when you can't play outside you get lost in your books. You have a love for book covers on your hands, just like your daddy and you enjoying filling up your book case. You are excited about AR points knowing your daddy is giving you a dollar a point and your goal is HUGE at 200 points by the end of the year!

At such a young age you are moved by God and his amazing power. You question things and love gaining a deeper understanding of why we do what we do and his word. You love Bible trivia and not only have knowledge but use your knowledge to guide you during your days. You humble us daily with your questions, thoughts and God moments. You pray for everything and call out to God when you are struggling. You know my sweet son the supplier of wisdom and all things good at such a young age.

You adore your sister MOST of the time and love teaching her and assisting her as her big brother. When I came back from Haiti with mention of a new sister I wanted to adopt and bring home you immediately adopted her into your life. You ask for her often and pray one day we can bring her home. Your sweet sensitive nature is most precious and you are one of the most compassionate thoughtful fellows around.

You know what you like and how you like it. Especially when it comes to food. You are getting better with trying new things, not such outlandish outburst when we ask you to try something but you are pretty sure before you even taste it if you will like it or not!

Now I will end this birthday posts as I do all of them, with a prayer. Davis this is my prayer for you as you enter your 8th year of life on this world.....

God I pray BIG things over this mighty man of yours. Thanks for giving us one of the most important responsibilities of raising this sweet guy. It is an amazing journey and we count ourselves so blessed to be his parents.
God I pray your richest blessings on this guy. Will you give him wisdom so he will be wise beyond his years. Increase his wisdom so that he might serve you with his sweet and sensitive heart. Give him the wisdom to see bad and good and choose the good. Give him the courage to stand up for what is right not what is popular. Make him a man who is tough so he can handle this hard world we live in but tender so he can care for all the brokenness we experience here. Help him to lead others to you, and give you all the credit. Little ones are not given much credit, but God you have already used Davis to humble me and I know he can do mighty things for you and your kingdom at a very young age. Keep his heard full of compassion, love and kindness so that he is not only able to love the oppressed but see them when they are lost in the crowds. Give him a light so that he may shine for you ALWAYS. God make him a man after your own heart.
And God I ask that you bless us as his parents to lead him and parent him in a way that will ultimately lead him closer to you. Give us the wisdom to talk to him and guide him through this journey of life. Parenting is one of the hardest things one can "do" but also one of the most rewarding. God give us the words when he asks us tough questions, the courage to discipline and shape our sweet boy into a man who loves you first others second and himself last. Thanks for giving us this opportunity to parent our sweet and precious Davis.
God let him hear your voice, when he is lonely, may you surround him when he is sad, and rally with him with he is joyful. Let him know and understand you are a God that never moves and NEVER leaves him.
God feel this boy with your holy spirit! Give him your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. All this I pray in your sons name....AMEN!
