5th grade night and Emmy takes on chapel

Davis participated in 5th-grade night several weeks ago and these are a couple shots from the night!

His cheerleaders in the audience!!!

Emerson and I were trying to get him to smile, I guess it's not cool to smile in 5th grade.

Emerson decided she needed to try her hand at taking D's pics.

After the show Davis and Hunt posing for a picture.

The next day Emerson led chapel and she wanted curls, so....

Our brave girl doing her thing!

I love these two something fierce!

Aunt Liz and cousins to the rescue!

LALA and Rob needed to go be with their friends and needed us to step in and help so....
we all did! Davis fed Porter P his morning bottle,

and then getting all his smiles!!!
Emerson sitting with D while she eats..

and teaching her all the things fruit loops boxes offer!

and lastly getting everyone dressed and outside for a quick picture or two!

I sure love all four of these babies and am so glad we are so close to be able to love each other so much!
And these last two pictures, because why not? He is my little man!

Emerson's envelope

EMERSON is one of the most giving children I have ever met. I am not just saying this because she is mine, but truly she has a gift to see things as just things and she will GIVE anything to you! On several occasions, her daddy has said I hope she marries a rich man because she won't be able to keep up her love of giving away if she doesn't. HA!
The other day was no different. I was working out and she came and asked me for an envelope. I told her where to find them and she ran downstairs. I didn't hear her so after I finished my workout I went to find her.  She was playing with her princess figurines and I said, "Emmy what did you need the envelope for?"
"Oh I wanted to empty my piggy bank," she said. In perfect mom fashion, I said, "Emerson your money needs to stay in the bank, it's much safer than your envelope."
"Mommy, I know but that money is not for me, I am giving it to uncle Rob's friends in Nashville."
HEARTBROKEN.
I took a deep breath and said: "Honey that is so sweet that you want to give your money to Rob's friends."
Very matter of factly she said, "it won't bring back their daughter but maybe they can buy something they need with it."
I, unlike Emerson, am not the most giving person I know. I try, but I have to work really hard at giving. (like by having an example in my 7-year-old daughter).
Emerson, on the other hand, knows at such a young age that money is just money, things are just things and neither is of too much importance.
HUMBLED by her example doesn't feel like a big enough word. This child not only gave every penny she owns but also was not bothered by giving it all. I would be worried sick if I gave too much. I would probably weigh the pros and cons, want to wait a couple of days to make sure it's still what I thought was best, and so on.
I have no idea how much money was in her piggy bank, she taped up the envelope, but she wants to "give all her coins and her dollars" and that is exactly what this girl is going to do.
Thanking GOD today for this beauty and her big ole heart. May she ALWAYS be an encourager to us all to GIVE, it's JUST money, it's JUST things.
Praying for the city of NASHVILLE. Praying for Uncle Rob's friends.

LEGENDS of TN football camp for Davis

Davis asked his MEME and PAWPAW for this football camp for his birthday and it did not disappoint. He was so excited to get autographs and learn any skills they could teach him. He was mesmerized by the coaches and was so proud to be attending the camp. Walker stayed to watch most of the camp and captured these shots.

He sacked out after the camp, we thought he was just exhausted but he ended up with the stomach bug. Not sure what was to blame, but either way this boy has had a time since the camp trying to get back to his normal self. Praying he is his normal healthy self very soon!

DAVIS gets student of the week!

Ms. Tisha's words could not have been truer.  We are so proud of our boy and raising him has truly been a blessing. I am so glad he has transitioned well this year to JC. He has played every sport he could, soared in all his classes and was the lead in the first-ever 5th-grade play, but more important than any of that he has grown spiritually. Davis, you are truly one in a million and I am so glad I get to call you mine.  Your smile lifts my spirits daily and you challenge me with the way you think. You, my dear one, make those around you better.

Emmy had the giggles one day and it was too cute not to capture. Repping in her JC cheer shirt! SHINE ON baby girl!

DISNEY BOUND

We surprised the kids with a scavenger hunt, where they discovered we were headed to DISNEY!!  HEADED TO DISNEY!!!  We are here!!! We've...
